The Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation (TSHF) has earned the 2024 Gold Seal of Transparency! The Gold Seal signifies that a nonprofit is committed to transparency by providing specific information to their Guide Star profile. Potential donors and funders can use Guide Star to gain information about a foundation and to make decisions when considering a donation to the TSHF. By earning this seal, the Foundation’s information has been shared with more than 200 charitable sites, boosting online visibility.

Plans are now in place for our 2024 Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA) Executive Council (EC). This includes a structure with our talented TSHA volunteers to pursue their set goals and initiatives based on our current TSHA Strategic Plan. Our committed volunteers include the 2024 Executive Board as well as the Executive Council members, which are made up of committee chairs and task force members.

During 2023, the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA) Executive Board changed the name of the Vice President (VP) for Social and Governmental Policy to the Vice President for Advocacy. Vice President Bobbie Kay Turkett initiated the change to better depict the overall work being done on behalf of the Association by the many members of the committees under this VP, including the TSHA Political Action Committee (PAC) and TSHA Legislative Team. 

Looking back at 2023, the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA) continued to provide its members with expanded continuing education courses and outreach to local communities in the post-COVID-19 era.

Graduate school presents students with many challenges. We are fortunate to be preparing for professions that provide us with a great deal of flexibility in interest and opportunity. However, that flexibility results in many choices that we must make along the way. Making choices can add to our stress.

What a remarkable year it has been! As we approach a new year, we are excited to share plans for the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA) and Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation (TSHF) Breakfast Awards Event, which will be held during the TSHA 2024 Annual Convention in Fort Worth.
