The Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA) would like to recognize the award winners who were honored recently during the Annual Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation (TSHF) and TSHA Award Event at the 2022 Convention in Fort Worth.
Erinn Hengst
2022 TSHA Award of Honors
Erinn Hengst is a speech-language pathologist in Katy ISD where she serves as a speech pathology specialist. She has served as TSHA Vice President for Educational and Scientific Affairs and as a member of the TSHA Public School Advisory Joint Committee. She has been an active TSHA member since 2008.
Lawrence (Larry) W. Higdon
2022 TSHA Hall of Fame Award
Larry Higdon is a retired audiologist who has dedicated most of his life to improving the professions of speech-language pathology and audiology. His accomplishments and volunteer activities are too numerous to mention in one article. He is a former TSHA president, former TSHF president as well as a former American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) president. He is currently the Director of Legislation/Governmental Relations for TSHA, a role he has served since 1990. Larry joined TSHA in 1966 and has volunteered with the Association since that time. This award is long overdue and so well-deserved.
