Plans are now in place for our 2024 Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA) Executive Council (EC). This includes a structure with our talented TSHA volunteers to pursue their set goals and initiatives based on our current TSHA Strategic Plan. Our committed volunteers include the 2024 Executive Board as well as the Executive Council members, which are made up of committee chairs and task force members.
Further details will help to explain the breakdown and roles of our TSHA volunteers. We have 18 TSHA Executive Board members who work with 56 committee chairs. Together, they make up the 74-member Executive Council. Since some committees have two co-chairs, the above-mentioned 56 chairs serve and direct the processes of 40 TSHA committees that focus on a wide and diverse range of projects and services for our TSHA members.
Plans also are now in place for our 2024 TSHA EC meetings, which will include quarterly virtual meetings in addition to a meeting in late December to discuss the transition of committee chairs. The idea is that we will meet more frequently to collaborate, share information, communicate, hear feedback, and provide timely and consistent updates to all committee chairs about TSHA happenings. These meetings will optimally align with deadlines for each committee’s quarterly reports, which are tentatively due April 15, July 15, October 15, and December 31.
Our goal is to engage all Executive Council members in 2024 with more information about the organization as well as to provide educational opportunities to help them learn and grow as leaders within the organization. We’re excited to pilot this new meeting structure in our post-pandemic environment. We also welcome ongoing feedback from Executive Council members on how we can continue to engage and support them through more frequent opportunities to meet and review the status of our strategic goals and initiatives.
