As the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA) continues to focus on supporting its members and strengthening connections across the state, we are excited to share some key updates that will help build an even stronger community in 2025.
This year, the Social Media and Membership/May Is Better Hearing and Speech Month (MBHSM) committees have joined forces to create a more unified approach to engaging with our members. By combining these two committees, we aim to streamline our efforts in providing you with the most relevant updates and support. One of the first initiatives will be a special meet-and-greet event at the TSHA 2025 Convention in May. This gathering will give us the opportunity to hear directly from you, our members, about your experiences and what inspires you to be a part of TSHA. It also will be a fantastic chance for members from different parts of Texas to connect, share ideas, and strengthen our networks.
In addition, the Diversity Committee is hosting their Second Student Forum for Undergraduate/Graduate Students and Early Career Professionals on April 9. This virtual event, titled “Transitioning from Graduate Student to Early Career Professional: A Perspective from the TSHA Diversity Committee,” will provide valuable insights and resources to help you navigate this exciting phase of your career. Registration details will be available soon.
Looking ahead to the TSHA 2025 Convention, we are proud to announce that the Diversity Committee once again will take center stage, this time supporting several of our members as they present on important topics such as culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) populations and supporting communication styles. This year’s Convention promises to be an exceptional platform for learning and collaboration, and we hope you will join us.
We also invite you to meet with the Diversity Committee during Convention to discuss how we can continue to support your professional growth and make the speech-language pathology and audiology fields more inclusive and accessible to all.
Thank you for your continued commitment to TSHA and for being a part of this vibrant, dynamic community. We look forward to seeing you in May and throughout the year as we work together to advance our professions and support one another.
