Kelly Hayes stepped down from her role of Executive Director for the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA) on December 31, 2021. Her contributions to TSHA have been immense. Thank you, Kelly, and all the best for your future endeavors.
Katie Strang officially started her duties as TSHA Executive Director on January 1, 2022.
Katie is an association executive professional with 15 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations. Katie joined SmithBucklin in 2013 and, during her tenure, has worked with the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) developing and executing educational strategy and serving as lead staff for NSGC’s conference that draws nearly 3,000 attendees annually. Since 2019, Katie has served as the Executive Director for the International Society for Experimental Hematology (ISEH), overseeing all strategy and operations for the Society and leading ISEH’s international conference. Prior to SmithBucklin, Katie worked with organizations such as the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago, DC Central Kitchen/Campus Kitchens Project and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Outside of work, Katie enjoys running and spending time with her family, including her husband, son, dog, and cat.
