By: Becky Yates, PhD, CCC-SLP, TSHF Fund Development Chair

In addition to scholarships and research grants, the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation (TSHF) recognizes professionals and students who provide services that benefit the community and our professions.

These awards are:

  • Carolyn Wells Service Award: This award was established to honor those who provide extraordinary service to the Foundation.
  • Marguerite Burtis, Peter Vogel, and Suzie Elkins Community Service Endowment Fund: This fund is intended to advance the work of speech-language pathologists who exceed expectations in providing services that benefit the community at large.
  • TSHA Young Leadership Award: This award is for students or young professionals in the professions of speech-language pathology and audiology who have demonstrated leadership abilities and who show potential to become leaders of the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA).
  • The Cherry Wright Texas Educational Loan Support Trust: This trust supports the payment of educational loans for speech-language pathologists and audiologists employed in a public-school setting in the state of Texas.
  • Judson Erik Mount Memorial Fund: This fund supports a speech-language pathologist or audiologist who is providing services to veterans of the United States Military Forces or who is a speech-language pathologist or audiologist who is a United States Military Forces veteran or is currently serving in the United States Military Forces.

Veterans Day is November 11. This is a great time to show support for our veterans by donating to the Judson Erik Mount Memorial Fund. Please consider a donation; any amount is appreciated. Scan the QR code to the left for easy donating.
