Tips for Tx

Have you heard of Gestalt Language Processing (GLP)? GLP refers to the language acquisition style in which an individual “moves through six stages of language development, beginning with fixed and self-selected gestalts and ending with spontaneous and individual communication with complex grammar” (Julius, 2023). Marisa Julius, with the SLP Toolkit, provides a fantastic explanation of Gestalt Language Processing and additional resources to support language gains with this learning process.

Tech Bytes

The use of technology in speech therapy has shifted in the last decade. Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) are using digital tools and activities with clients more than ever for in-person and teletherapy sessions. Stacy Crouse shares valuable insight on why and how SLPs are using technology to address communication goals.

Student Swap

Rising SLPs can benefit from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Gift to the Grad program as they transition from student to practitioner. Rising speech pathologists can save up to $450 and receive up to 20 months of membership for the cost of one year through this program.

Wellness Corner

Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) have one of the most rewarding and challenging careers in today’s society. Constant Therapy shares four of our most significant challenges and ideas to support SLPs.
