Volunteering just takes a desire to learn and a passion to serve.”
Rebecca Cockerham, 2012 Graduate Student Representative
It takes the time, talent, creativity, and dedication of more than 100 volunteers for TSHA to carry out its mission. Volunteering with TSHA is fun and rewarding! No matter your current level of expertise or area of interest, TSHA has a volunteer position that’s a just-right fit for you!
Why Volunteer?
“Why did I wait so long to volunteer with TSHA? I wish I’d started YEARS ago! It’s so much fun, and I’ve learned a lot more about our field in a short amount of time!”
“I’ve met SLPs across the state!”
“Volunteering increased my job satisfaction.”
How to Volunteer
Each year, TSHA hosts an annual Call for Volunteers. This annual Call for Volunteer process aims to address the following:
- Transparency: We hope this process will allow members to have insight on how and when volunteers are selected for TSHA committees.
- Communication: We aim to ensure that every applicant receives an email with a decision as to whether or not they were selected for a volunteer opportunity.
- Belonging: We hope that our TSHA members will take advantage of this application period to get involved in TSHA! The Call for Volunteer process is an open invitation to all TSHA members.
TSHA is recruiting members to serve on over 30 committees and task forces through the 2024 Call for Volunteers process. To apply, learn more about TSHA committees at the link below, then complete the application. You may apply for as many committees or task forces as you choose. Committee applications will open through July 31, 2023. In most cases, committee terms would begin on January 1, 2024 and applications will be notified of selections by October 2023.
